iCare Format Recovery can recover files that were lost as a result of a disk drive being formatted. It supports restoring files from any kind of drive, may it be the usual internal hard disk drive, an external hard drive, a memory card, a digital camera card, a USB flash stick, etc.
The most obvious advantage of this handy tool is the fact that it’s very easy-to-use. Its wizard-based interface guides you through the simple 3 steps required to complete the file recovery process. At first you select the formatted partition, then the detected locations that contain recoverable data, and lastly, you select the data to be recovered. The scanned files are neatly categorized by their type and format (by file extensions).
As you can see, iCare Format Recovery is straightforward and intuitive, therefore, even complete beginners will be able to use it without any problem. In fact, it is one of the simplest data recovery applications that one can find but this doesn’t mean that it’s less effective or that it lacks any important function. This program works with all types of FAT and NTFS file systems (FAT16, FAT32, etc.) and even supports RAID disks.
When it comes to downsides, I noticed that loading a previously saved recovery session worked only in some cases for unknown reasons. Other than that, there’s nothing else to criticize about this tool. It’s easy-to-use, straightforward and effective.
